John Benjamin Garcia, 67, died Monday, September 14, 2026 at Ascension Via Christi Medical Center-St. Joseph Campus in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on March 22, 1959 in Wichita, the son of Juan T. and Julia Rangel Garcia. John was raised in the Wichita area and went to Circle High School.

For several years he had been a contractor for area aircraft manufacturing plants and later was an automobile mechanic.

John was a major movie buff and enjoyed watching cartoons. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and liked to have a good time with family and friends.

Survivors include his sons Bryce and Jeris both of Wichita; two grandchildren Alliyah Garcia and Antonio Garcia; along with his siblings Juanita Prater of Wichita, Lupe Caramillo of Wichita, Carmen Terriquez of Arvada, Colo., and Julia Garcia of Benton, Ks.

John is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Paul Garcia, Josie Garcia, Manuel Garcia, and Benny Garcia.

Memorial services will be held at The Benton Church, 14300 S.W. 20th Street, Benton, Ks. 67017 on Thursday, September 17 between 10:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M.
