John William Harcus, 64, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away on April 22, 2025. Born on November 7, 1961, in Racine, Wisconsin, John also grew up in California and Arkansas. John graduated in 1980 from Gentry High School in Gentry, Arkansas. After high school, John enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served 15 years. He then served an additional 10 years in the Air National Guard. While stationed at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, NY, John met his wife Linda in 1982. When John was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base in 1987, the family moved to Wichita, and finally settled in Haysville in 1989.

John is survived by his wife Linda, and his children Jacqueline (David) Moore, Kara Clauss, Steven (Amanda) Harcus, and Caity Harcus, his brother Daniel Harcus and sister Linda (Thomas) Flatt He also leaves behind nine grandchildren - Brianne, Wesley, Shawn, Braden, Emma, Katelyn, Mackenzie, Zeb, and Zoey – and two great grandchildren, Kaidyn and Kysen, as well as several nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Dorothy DaHill and Russell Harcus, and his brother James Harcus.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on May 3 at Haysville Christian Church.
