Johnnie McDonald

Johnnie Martin McDonald, 67, died Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at his home in Augusta, Kansas.

He was born on December 6, 1958 in El Dorado, Kansas, the son of William Lawrence and Edna Arlene Farrington McDonald. Johnnie was raised in El Dorado as well as in Arkansas and Tulsa.

Through the years he operated a tree trimming service in the Augusta area along with being a Derrick Hand in the oil field for many years.

Johnnie was a ladies man who also enjoyed music, camping, and fishing.

Survivors include his sons Jeremy McDonald and wife Brandi of Augusta, Matthew McDonald of Arkansas City; daughter Jessica Edwards and husband Nick of Wichita; grandchildren Hunter Pope, Ryanna McDonald, Evan McDonald, Darrick Edwards, Kadin Edwards, Alessia Cokeley, Devon Cokeley; and great grandchild Delainey McDonald.

Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Anita Jones who died in March 2023.

Inurnment will take place at the McDonald Cemetery in Hogeye, Arkansas.

Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
