Judith Marie Basinger, 78, died Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Homestead Assisted Living in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on August 3, 1947 in Dodge City, Kansas, where she graduated from high school.

Judith married Norman Gail Basinger on September 10, 1964 in Clayton, New Mexico. After they were married, they lived in Utica, Kansas before moving to Ness City where she worked at the Ness City Hospital. Norman and Judith later moved to Dighton where she was the Dietary Supervisor at the Lane County Hospital. They continued to live in Dighton until moving to the Wichita area in 2002.

She was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Wichita. Judith enjoyed sewing, cooking along with playing games and cards.

She is survived by her husband, Norman of Wichita and daughter Joyce Basinger of Bel Aire, Kansas.

Judith is preceded in death by her father Albert Erskin, Sr.; mother Lillian Timm Edwards; sons Norman Gail Basinger, Jr., David Wayne Basinger; brother Albert Erskin, Jr.; and sister Sandra Thurmond.

Private inurment will be in the Utica, Kansas Cemetery.
