Isaiah 35:5-7 and 40:31
The prophet Isaiah, writing of a better time to come — the time when the
Lord himself would come to deliver his people — described that time in these words:
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped;
Then shall the lame man leap like a deer and the tongue of the speechless sing
for joy.
For waters shall break forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert;
The burning sand shall become a pool and the thirsty ground springs of water.
Those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles;
They shall run and not be weary;
They shall walk and not faint.
