Karen Ann Ray, 79, died Sunday, January 18, 2026, at her home in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on October 30, 1946, in Wichita, the daughter of James Howard "Jimmy" and Marjean Ann "Ann" Barkley. Though born in Wichita, Karen spent her childhood attending many schools in various states.

She worked for many years as a Medical Transcriptionist at both St. Joseph Hospital and Wesley Medical Center.

A devoted Catholic, Karen was a longtime member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Wichita. She believed deeply in the Resurrection and held fast to the hope of being reunited with those who have gone before her.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Ray, her grandson, Tanner Ray, both of the home, her nephew, Nicholas Luttrell of Missouri, and her beloved cat, Pepper.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
