Karina Vargas, 37, of Wichita, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2025, at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kansas, surrounded by the family who meant the world to her.

She was born on April 16, 1988, in Mission Hills, California, the daughter of Trancito and Margarita Vargas. After moving to Dodge City, Kansas, Karina graduated from high school. She moved to Wichita, Kansas after graduating where she met her husband Anthony where they began a family and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Wichita State University. Her professional career was marked by dedication, including two years with SBM Management Services and her recent years contributing to the Human Resources Department at Boeing Aircraft.

Beyond her professional achievements, Karina's true legacy was the warmth and kindness she extended to everyone she met. She was a loyal and cherished friend, the kind of person who would go out of her way to help anyone in need. Her infectious spirit and generous heart meant she was truly loved by many.

Karina found her greatest joy in her family. She was a fixture at every one of her children's extracurricular activities, always their loudest cheerleader and most devoted supporter.  She also had a deep passion for travel, constantly seeking new adventures and creating lasting memories.

Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Anthony Costilla; her beloved children, Alani Costilla, Elijah Costilla, Leland Costilla, and Quincy (cat) all of the home in Wichita; her parents Trancito and Margarita Vargas of Dodge City; and her brothers, Arturo Vargas of Irvine, California, and Eric Vargas and his wife Diana of Dodge City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Affordable Cremations Plus in Wichita, Kansas.
