Kathy Reed of Newton passed away on November 27, 2025. She was born on February 19, 1960, to Donald and Velma (Hultgren) Foster and later built a long, dedicated career as a registered nurse.

Kathy spent her childhood happiest on her grandmother Keopsel's farm, where she developed a deep love for animals. Horses, cats, and dogs were always part of her world, and her two chihuahuas, Tiny Girl and Amara, were especially dear to her. That affection stayed with her throughout her life.

She was an avid reader and loved unwinding with a good book. She also enjoyed watching TV crime shows with her father, especially favorites like Blue Bloods.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Don Foster.

She is survived by her mother, Velma Foster; her siblings, Kim Smith and Kevin Foster; and her two sons, Patrick Heaney and Tyler Miranda, who will forever hold her memory close.
