Kelly Michelle Rambo, 54, born on April 14, 1971, in Wichita Kansas, peacefully passed away January 5, 2026 in Wichita, Kansas.

Kelley was born to Larry and Linda (Stucker) Rambo in Wichita, Kansas, She was their first born. She attended Campus Highschool in Haysville, Kansas and graduated from there in 1989.

Kelley's greatest accomplishment in life was her boys, Issac and Ian Nickerson. She would have moved mountains for them, they were and will always remain the most important and most special of all people in her life. She spoke of them often to many people. Kelley loved her boys more than anything and she would have wanted them to always know how special and loved they were to her.

Kelley was ambitious and very intelligent. She was educated not only in Haysville Schools but also attended College in Amarillo, Texas for a Bachelors in Biology. She then attended Antioch for Environmental Psychology, earning her first Masters Degree. Her second Masters was earned at University of Western New Mexico in Psychology. She attended many more colleges and universities just to take classes for her love of learning.

Kelley loved Girl Scouts starting from when she was young when she joined her first Troop. She went on many camping trips, rode horses in Wyoming and attended many campfires while singing many Girl Scout songs along with her fellow Scouts. She was a camp counselor and loved showing her love of Scouts to the girls, seeing what nature had to offer and loved still helping the girls well into her adult life.

Kelley had a great love of nature and animals which she passed onto her children. She was her happiest outside with the trees. She would say that nature grounded her. It was nothing for her to stop in traffic to help a small creature. even if it was just to safely help them across the road.

Kelley made a career helping clients as an Addiction Counselor and later as a Trauma Counselor. She always helped others, and did this for over 20 years professionally. She was kind, caring and compassionate to all she met, including family and friends.

Hobbies, she sure had hobbies, and she was good at them. Stained Glass and Glass Bead Making and even raising sheep. She loved ancestry research, and through DNA connected with so many family members all around the world. She even recently went to Cornwall to meet some distant but much loved cousins. She found the family castle, Sirs, Knights, Lords and Lady's all related to her. She shared her findings with lots of family and they too have come to love ancestry as much as she did. Kelley also played the guitar, playing songs that pleased her heart. Songs from Girl Scouts to Folk songs.

Kelley is survived by her husband, Craig Nickerson and her beloved sons, Issac Nickerson and Ian Nickerson, of Wellington, Kansas, two stepsons, Justin Gilbert and James Nickerson of the State of Maine. Nieces Mia Lamberson Samuels and Alyssa Rambo, of the State of Oklahoma. As well as many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins from all across the globe.

Kelley was preceded in death by her parents Larry and Linda (Stucker) Rambo, Sister Kathy Rambo, Grandparents Marion and Reeta (Clothier) Rambo and Lewis and Dorothy (Hilton) Stucker, Parents-In-Law Edgar and Margaret Nickerson, and other beloved family members and friends.

I would like to give special thanks to Kelley's cousins, Stephanie Hilton and Kerry Hilton Graham, for helping myself and the boys through Kelley's journey and her fight with cancer by supporting and loving us through it. Also, to the care team of the Wellington, Kansas ER, the numerous Doctors and Nurses at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas and the care team at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice at St. Francis Campus in Wichita, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local animal shelter** or animal rescues** of your choice or to your local Girl Scout Troop. They are a non-profit organization that helped Kelley with information and support through this trying time.
**Kelley's Son has requested, out of respect for his Mother, that donations to any shelters or rescues not include the Organization of PETA or any of its affiliates. Kelley did not agree with their beliefs nor their promotion of controversial tactics and acts of protests.
