LaDonna Jean Pelkey, 87, passed away on October 12, 2026, at her home in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on October 23, 1938, in Winfield, Kansas, to Earnest and Opal (Cook) Coon. LaDonna was a warm and creative soul who found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She truly enjoyed cooking, sewing, and crocheting, creating many cherished pieces over the years. Above all, her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family, friends, and her cherished dog, "Gizzy."

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Pelkey; her brother, James Coon; and her sister, Phyllis (Coon) Bohm.

LaDonna leaves behind a rich legacy of love and family. She is survived by her son, Mark Tuggle; her four grandchildren, Alma Spendlove, Matthew (Shannon) Spendlove, Jason (Melissa) Tuggle, and Elizabeth (Lisa) Carney; and 12 great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in LaDonna’s memory to the Table of Hope Food Pantry.
