Larry Don Whisenhunt, 78, of Wichita, died Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Larksfield Health Center in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on January 10, 1948 in Anadarko, Oklahoma, the son of Howard Douglas and Nell Renfroe Whisenhunt. When Larry was a child, the family moved to Liberal, Kansas where he was raised and graduated from high school. He served in the U. S. Army during the View Nam Conflict.

After being discharged from the military Larry lived in Yukon, Oklahoma for several years until moving to Wichita in the mid 80's. He had been a welder for Carl Harris Construction in Wichita for over 20 years.

Larry was an avid pool player and enjoyed playing in tournament. He lived to gamble and play the lottery.

Survivors include his sons Evan Whisenhunt of Wichita, Kevin Olson of Tampa, Florida; daughter Meagan Sparks of Indianapolis, Indiana; brothers Gary Whisenhunt of Shawnee, Jerry Whisenhunt of Liberal; and six grandchildren Dexter, Skye, Ben, Madeline, Liam, and Ryan.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents.

As per Larry's wishes, no services are planned.
