Latwonda
Washington
Nov 17, 1979 — Feb 13, 2026
LaTwonda "Twonda" Monique Washington, 46, a lifelong resident of Wichita, took the hand of Jesus on Friday, February 13, 2026. She was born on November 17, 1979, in Wichita, Kansas, to J.T. Washington and Darcus Owens. She graduated from Northwest High School in 1998.
Twonda was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. However, her greatest pride and deepest joy was being a mother to her son, Darius "Day Day" Washington. She was a faithful member of Ninth Street Church of God, where she actively participated in the Women's Bible Study. She found joy in music, coloring, family gatherings, and playing bingo. Twonda possessed an unwavering faith, an unshakable love for God, and consistently demonstrated a quiet strength through all she endured.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Darius Washington; her mother and bonus mother, Darcus Owens and Monica Boston; her sister, Kendra (Ray) Hamlin; her brothers, Terrance (Shamika) Nash, Jonathan (Malakia) Washington, Joe (Lena) Washington, Tony (Yolanda) Marshall, Dominic Marshall, and Rodney Stewart; her beloved grandbaby, Damere Washington, whom she adored; nieces and nephews she treasured spending time with; special children, Sydney Anderson, Aquantez Love, and Mahjae Keywood; and a host of friends, extended family, and all who were blessed to know and love her. She was preceded in death by her father, J.T. Washington and beloved bonus parent, Tommie Cameron.
Twonda had a quiet way of making others feel seen, loved, and valued, leaving an imprint on hearts that will never fade. Though she is no longer with us, she will forever be remembered, and her unwavering faith and quiet strength will remain an enduring testimony to all who knew her.
Twonda's Homegoing service will Friday, February 27th at 11am at New Jerusalem Baptist Church1625 N. Madison Ave Wichita, KS 67214.
Affordable Cremations Plus of Wichita, Kansas has been entrusted with her care.
