Lester J. Hecox, 92, passed away on November 16, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on April 2, 1933, in Tyrone, Oklahoma.
Lester was devoted to his beloved wife, Vivian Hecox, whom he cherished deeply throughout their life together. They were united in marriage on October 25, 1952, in Clayton, New Mexico—a partnership built on love, faith, and unwavering commitment. Vivian remained the center of his heart, and he carried her memory with him every day after her passing.
He was preceded in death by his adored wife, Vivian; his parents, Jay Murl Hecox and Mary Louise Hecox; two brothers, Orville and Virgil; and four sisters: Nettie, Thelma, Norma, and Emma.
Lester is survived by his children: Marvin Hecox, Gene Hecox, Jay Hecox, and Ella Hecox; his grandchildren: Jennifer Tavares, Rosanna Bolster, Michael Murphy, Christoffer Hecox, Amberli Hecox, Marisa Hecox, Shelby Hecox, Andrew Hecox, and Andrea Hecox; and his nephew, Steven Hecox. He also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Mack.
Lester will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, the gentleness of his spirit, and the deep devotion he showed to those he held closest—especially Vivian. His memory and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
