Linda Denise Wood, beloved wife and mother passed away June 5, 2026 in Abilene KS with her husband by her side. Linda was born December 9, 1958 to Joe Paul Howle and Barbara Jean Richards Howle in Abilene,TX. At a young age her family moved to the Denver, CO area where Linda grew up. Linda moved to Seattle where she lived for a while before moving back to Denver.
Linda worked as a dispatcher for the Federal Heights, Golden and Parker, CO police departments before doing what she really loved, which is taking care of others. She took in foster children and raised them as her own.
In 2014 she met her future husband Christopher Wood and a whirlwind romance blossomed. They moved together to Abilene, KS in May of 2017 and we're married summer of 2019. Through thick and thin, they remained committed to each other and their family.
Linda is proceeded in death by her parents Joe and Barbara (Richards) Howle and a brother. She is survived by her husband Christopher Michael Wood, stepfather Clendon (Sonny) Fitzgerald, son Matthew Massey, daughters Breana Hetherington and Vanessa Gonzales as well as numerous other siblings, nieces and nephews and adopted and forever children.
Linda loved spending time with her family, reading romance novels, music, going out to eat and long conversations with her husband, daughter Breana and stepson Johnathan Wood who she loved like her own.
In lieu of flowers contributions to a breast cancer organization would be appreciated.
