Loretta Jean North, 68, died Monday, August 18, 2025 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

She and her twin brother Michael were born on October 18, 1956 in Salina, Kansas, to Kermit Dean and Agnes Weber McGilvray. Loretta was raised in Salina where she graduated from Salina South High School.

She moved to Wichita in May 1980 and married Michael Ray North on April 3, 1981 in Mulvane, Kansas. They have lived in the Haysville area since being married.

Loretta enjoyed making quilts and sewing.

Survivors include her husband Michael of the home in Haysville; sons Brian Andrew McGilvray of Oatville, Ks., Jaime Ray North of Wichita; Brad Lee North of Haysville; two grandchildren Nicole McGilvray and Nicholas McGilvray; and her siblings Patrick McGilvray of Salina, Nancy Steele of Atlanta, Georgia; Sharon Russell of Salina; and twin brother Michael McGilvray of Sedgwick, Ks.

A celebration of life will be planned later.
