Lori Ann Nessel, 59, passed away on December 31, 2025 in Wichita, Ks. She was born on April 24, 1966 in Hanford, Ca to Leon Mai and Gretta (White) Mai.

Lori obtained certification in cosmetology where she went on to teach at Classic College Hair Design which was later B Street Design. She married Gregory Nessel on June 10, 2002. She was loved by her students and faculty while she was teaching. Her classes often scored the highest grades. She was very creative, she loved art, especially painting. She enjoyed music, gardening, and fishing. She was a great cook when she was able to prepare meals for her friends and family. She was known to be onery and a bit sassy She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Leon Mai, sister, Victoria Dunn, and brothers; Larry Mai and Dave Mai.

She is survived by her husband, Gregory Nessel, of the home, daughter, Natasha (Joshua) Bowmaker, sons; Jerick (Lina) Colgrove, Taylor Colgrove, and Patrick (Tiffani) Mahaney, 12 grandchildren, her mother, Gretta Holland, two brothers; Randy Dunn and Derek Dunn, and sister, Judy Mai-Kroger.

Celebration of life will be held January 17, 2026 at 3:30 pm Wichita CityArts, 334 N Mead St, Wichita, KS 67202.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to assist the family to carry out Lori's final wishes.
