Lucille Katherine Gabel, 82, of Abilene, Kansas, died Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Salina Regional Medical Center in Salina, Kansas.

She was born on December 21, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Herbert and Irene Matts Gentry. Lucille was raised in Michigan and then the family moved to California.

She left California in 1968 and moved to Abilene where she lived before moving to Ness City. Lucille married Clark James Gabel on July 1, 1972 in Ness City. They later returned to Abilene.

For several years she had worked for Russell Stover Candy.

Survivors include her son Clark Gabel of Abilene; daughter Dawn Gabel of Solomon; brother Jim Gentry and his wife Pat along with sister Evelyn Callahan all of Abilene; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Lucille is preceded in death by her parents; husband Clark "Cactus" on September 2, 2005; daughter Rose Marie Timmons; and eight brothers and sisters.

A celebration of life will be had at a later date.
