Obituary

Malachi Aidan Sullivan, 15 years old, the son of Jonathon and Cami Corbin Sullivan, of Goddard, passed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Malachi was born in Wichita on July 2, 2009.  He was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at one year old.  In his early years he proved himself a warrior, achieving more than anyone expected through therapy.  Throughout the progression of his disease Malachi remained a happy, joyful, and mischievous boy.  He loved his shenanigans.  He was a constant source of laughter and mirth for those around him.  He possessed a sweet and gentle spirit that touched anyone who knew him even for a short period of time.  It was common for a person who had met Malachi briefly once to remember him years later.  He was fascinated by electronics and played with them constantly until his function would not allow it.  He communicated for some time with a speech assistance device that he would sometimes use to make jokes and say nonsense phrases.  To those who loved him, Malachi will always be, in his words, "handsome famous."  In his final years, he spent most of his time watching his favorite cartoons and movies and engaging with his family at every opportunity.

Along with his parents, Malachi is survived by his sisters Mara and Mica Sullivan, both of the home, and grandparents Barry and Kandace Sullivan of Benton, and Wynne and Margo Corbin of Wichita.

Malachi is also survived by his aunts and uncles Christopher and Angie Sullivan and their children Samantha, J.J, and Devin; Matthew and Sydney Sullivan and their children Madeline, L.J., Kaycie, and Eli; Nicholas Sullivan; Jennifer Sullivan; Clayton and Jill Corbin and their children Tyler and Briley; Heath and Casey Johnson and their children Derek, Clara, and Travis; Dave and Aryal Sharp and their children Ryan, Mason, and Evalyn.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 7 at Cross Road Church at 2139 South Maize Road in Wichita, KS from 10 AM-1 PM.

The family has entrusted Affordable Cremations Plus in Wichita with his care.
