Maria M. Johnson, 68, of Neodesha, Kansas, passed Monday, August 25, 2025 at Ascension Via Christi Medical Center-St. Joseph Campus in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on May 14, 1957 in the Philippines. Maria was raised in Manila and later moved to Germany where she lived for 18 years.

She moved to the United States in 1996 and married Ronnie Gene Johnson on November 27, 1999 in Neodesha, Kansas where they continued to live.

Through the years she worked in boat manufacturing but found fulfillment as a home helper serving others.

Survivors include her beloved Ronnie "Bubba" Johnson; brothers Francis and Pelagio "Dong" Villegas 4th and their families; sister Maria Isabel (Maribel) "Bing" Villegas and her family, all of the Philippines; son Patrick Villanueva of Arizona; daughter Michelle (DuVaughn) Lowden of Michigan; and six granddaughters Vanessa, Takiya, Jalina (Isaiah), Nyla, Ahja and Joanna. Maria is expecting her first great granddaughter in 2026.

Maria is preceded in death by her father Francis Pelagio "Doding" Villegas Jr.; mother Karing Villegas and brother Restituto Villegas.

Private memorials will be held in honor of our loved Maria.
