Maria Imelda Rangel, 79, longtime Liberal, Kansas resident, died Monday, September 8, 2025 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on May 13, 1947 in Juan Aldama, Zacatecas, Mexico, the daughter of Antonio Rangel and Juana Rios.

Imelda had lived in El Paso, Texas before moving to Liberal, Kansas 25 years ago. She was retired from National Beef in Liberal.

Survivors include her sister Andrea Solis of El Paso; brothers Amador Rangel Rios and Tello Rangel Rios both of Mexico; along with several nieces and nephews.

Imelda is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Tomosa Rangel Rios, Luisa Gomez, and Maria de Jesus Rangel.

Following cremation, inurnment will take place in El Paso.

Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
