Marian Elaine Sjurson, 96, passed away on December 14, 2024 at Wichita Presbyterian Manor. She was born on June 27, 1928 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Roy and Alice (Rhodes) Chesling.

She graduated from Ames High School and went on to graduate from Iowa State University with a degree in Home Economics. On August 27, 1950 she married Elmer "Paul" Sjurson. He passed away on March 15, 2010. She moved to Wichita 11 years ago after spending over 70 years in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She worked for Target for over 20 years. She was a very strong woman in the Christian faith, she will be remembered for her kindness she showed to everyone she met. She was a voracious reader, often reading 12 books a week, she was an avid golfer and loved all sports. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sjurson, her parents, and brother, Larry Chesling.

She is survived by her three children; Sue Gordon, and husband Vic, Jim Sjurson, and former spouse Kris Sjurson and wife Mary Hinton, and David Sjurson and former wife Becky Sjurson,  12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
