Marie Elena Harvell, 81, of Wichita, died Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the Derby Health and Rehabilitation Center in Derby, Kansas.

She was born on August 5, 1944 in Marquette, Michigan, the daughter of Edward J. and Elaine M. Schmeltzer Zarzyski. Marie graduated from high school in 1962 in Marquette.

She received her training as a C.M.A. from Parks College in Boulder, Colorado.

Marie married Edward Harvell, Sr. on November 18, 1967 in Marquette, Michigan. While Ed served in the U.S. Air Force, they traveled across the country.

While living in Derby and Wichita she worked for Dr. C.T. Hagen as a C.M.A., the Army Air Force Exchange at McConnell Air Force Base, and later as a receptionist at the Rose Hill Bank.

Marie taught ceramics for several years, she was a very good artist and loved to bake.

Survivors include her husband Ed of the home in Wichita; son Edward Harvell, Jr. of Derby; brothers Edward Zarzyski of Houghton Lake, Michigan, Carl Zarzyski of St. John, Michigan; sister Irene Darrow of Derby; and granddaughter Isabelle Harvell.
