Obituary

Mark Jonathan Boehm, 59, passed away peacefully Friday, January 2, 2026 at his home in Wichita, Kansas surrounded by his family.

He was born on September 30, 1966 in Traben-Trarbach, Germany, the son of Edgar Albert and Ingrid Larsson Boehm. Mark was raised in Emmetsburg, Iowa. The family later moved to Marshalltown, Iowa where he graduated from high school, and he then attended the University of Northern Iowa. While in Marshalltown, Mark met Jocelyn Western, whom he married on July 1, 1989 after moving together to San Diego, California.

While in California, Mark and Jocelyn had two sons, Logan and Colton. Mark worked in computer systems, and he began working for ProTelesis as a Systems Engineer in 2004 where he spent most of his career. He and Jocelyn moved back from San Diego to Marshalltown in 2008 to be closer to family. His sons then finished high school at Marshalltown High School and both attended Iowa State University. Mark and Jocelyn continued to live there until moving to Wichita in 2024.

Mark loved spending time with his family and his cats. Some of his most notable hobbies included riding dirt bikes in the desert, boating on the river, riding his Harley Davidson, and playing darts.

Survivors include his wife Jocelyn; sons Logan Boehm and wife Alicia of Wichita, and Colton Boehm and fiancée Yvonne Solis of Fort Collins, Colorado; grandchildren William, Theodore, Olivia, and Benjamin all of Wichita.

Mark is also survived by his brother Glen Boehm; nieces Calli, Caitlin, Alexandria, and Hailey; his mother-in-law Judy Wasco; father-in-law Rod Western; sister-in-law Jacey Stewart and husband Dennis all of Marshalltown.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be February 21, 2026 from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at The 918, 918 North 4th Avenue, Marshalltown, IA 50158
