Mark Alan Oakes, 61, passed away on August 15, 2024 in Wichita, Ks. He was born on March 17, 1963 in Newton, Ks.

In his early years, he played softball. He enjoyed fishing with his friends every chance he got. He also liked to wood working in his free time. He also loved to travel with a long career of truck driving.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Hester Keith, brothers; William and Ralph Oakes.

He is survived by his spouse Christine Cherry, children; Josh Oakes and Samantha Oakes, step children; Ariana Leone, Andrew Cherry, Austin Merz and Sasha Merz, two brothers; Keith and Richard Oakes, half brother, Bobby Keith, and five grandchildren.

Celebration of life to be held he is having a celebration of life at Chisholm trail center 601 SE 36th street Newton, Ks 67114 on September 1st, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
