Mark Richard Williams, 69, passed away on July 11, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on December 12, 1956, in Marquette, Michigan.

Mark spent most of his adult life in Andover, Kansas, where he raised his two children before later residing in Wichita. He dedicated many years of his life to working in the HVAC industry, often putting in long, demanding days to provide for his family. His strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to help others were qualities that defined him throughout his life.

Outside of work, he appreciated the simple things in life. He loved listening to The Beatles, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, firing up the grill for a backyard barbecue, and relaxing with a cold beer. He enjoyed spending time in his backyard, tending to his garden, and was always dreaming up his next project around the house, even if a few of them never quite got finished. Anyone who knew Mark probably remembered the bright blue house he lived in. It reflected his quirky personality and stood out on the block, just as he did.

One of Mark’s biggest soft spots was for animals, especially cats. As he got older, they quickly became one of his greatest joys. He could never turn away a stray, making sure they always had food and a safe place to come back to. When Savannah and Nicholas were growing up, it was not unusual for Mark to come home with another kitten that had found its way into his heart. His kindness towards animals reflected the kind of person he was. He always wanted to help those who needed it, whether they had two legs or four.

Those who knew Mark will remember his unmistakable red hair, his hardworking nature, and his stubborn determination. He was generous, dependable, creative, and always willing to help a friend or neighbor. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted father who worked hard to provide for his family and cared deeply for the people and animals he loved.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Savannah Raelynn Williams, and his son, Nicholas Tyler Williams. He is also survived by his beloved cats, Rae and Jo, who brought him comfort and companionship. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Williams, his mother Carol Leach, his stepfather, Joe Leach, and his stepmother, Marcia Williams.

Mark’s memory will live on through the family he loved, the friends and neighbors whose lives he touched, and the countless acts of kindness that reflected the person he was. His children will forever remember the music that filled the house, the smell of barbecue on warm evenings, the countless kittens he rescued, and the unwavering love he showed by working hard every day to provide for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
