Mary Alice Goldwater, 80, died Monday, August 17, 2026 at her home in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on September 24, 1945 in Howard, Kansas, the daughter of Richard Lenard and Helen Mae Hutton Montgomery. Mary was raised and attended schools in the Howard area.

She married Paul Richard Jacobs and they had three children. She later married Rolland “Bud” Goldwater in August 1972 and they had one son. Mary later married Charles Devor in December 1996, he died in 2008.

Mary lived for a short time in Augusta before settling in Wichita. She had been a cashier at the Dillons Store at Harry & Broadway for 30 years.

Survivors include her children Marcia Dickisonand husband Charles of Wellington, Steven Jacobs and wife Traci of Wichita; Rolland E. Goldwater, Jr. of Wichita; step-son Johnny Devor of Wichita; and seven grandchildren.

Mary also has three siblings, Gary, Ruth and Lois all of whom live in Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant son Richard “Dickie” Jacobs; and brother Dale Montgomery.

No services are being planned.
