Mary Wyatt

Mary Elizabeth Wyatt, 52, of Winfield, Kansas, died Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on August 10, 1974, in Wichita, Kansas. Mary graduated from Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School in 1992 and then from Cowley County Community College in Arkansas City, where she studied journalism, before receiving her bachelor's degree in General Studies from Wichita State University.

Mary had lived in Winfield for 20 years, where she was a member of the Church of Christ and active with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). She had a remarkable green thumb and loved gardening and taking photographs of nature. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and jewelry making.

Mary had a gift for finding beauty in the world around her, and her laughter was unforgettable, often arriving as a gentle giggle woven into her words. She delighted in bright colors, glittering accessories, and clothing that reflected her bold personality. She loved her church community and treasured the friendships she built there. A dear friend to many, Mary helped those around her. She cherished her family, friends, and faith, and she will be remembered for her resilience, colorful spirit, and joyful laughter.

Survivors include her father, Lawrence Wyatt Jr., and stepmother, Linda Wyatt, of Wichita; her sister, Anne Wyatt, of Wichita; her cousins, John Hunter of New York City, New York, and Julianne Graul of Loveland, Colorado; her aunt and uncle, Joyce and Mike Koller of St. Louis, Missouri; her aunt and uncle, Fran and Dwight Wyatt of St. Louis, Missouri; and various other cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Trollope Wyatt; her aunts, Judy Hunter and Joanne Tarman; and her uncles, Jim Wyatt and Jack Wyatt.

Memorial services will be announced by Affordable Cremations Plus of Wichita, Kansas.
