Matthew was kind and compassionate. He had a very large family with both blood family and the ones he came to call family with people he got to meet. He was a loved and respected man by many yet still considered a simple man with simple pleasures. Because he was loved and respected so well, no one was a stranger to Matthew. If you knew Matthew the way we all did, you were family. He gave the love in full return to anyone he met. Matthew was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back and no matter the need, he would always be the first to step up and offer help. He was known as a peace keeper and had a way of bringing people together.
Matthew had his struggles in life, as we all do, He struggled with addiction and fought with diabetes his whole life. Because of the diabetes he also began to fight kidney failure . Still no matter his struggles, he fought hard and with spirit. He fought with a smile on his face and laughter in his voice and spirit. Matthew had a sense of humor that was not for the faint of heart. Matthew fought the battle and in the end Matthew won the battle and was laid our heavenly fathers arms peacefully on May 29, 2026 at 2:00 pm.
