Mattie Michelle Smith, 25, of Pratt, Kansas, died Thursday, Mach 27, 2025 at the Stafford County Hospital in Stafford, Kansas.

She was born on June 27, 1999 in Ulysses, Kansas. The family later moved to Pratt where she was raised and attended schools.

Mattie married Nicholas Dean Gunter, Sr. on October 23, 2023 in Larned, Kansas. She loved spending time with her three children. Along with family time, Mattie enjoyed music, having fun and laughing with friends.

Survivors include her husband Nick; children Ryder Jane Gunter, Ines Rose-lynn Gunter, Nicholas Gunter, Jr. ; her mother Veronica Laredo Smith of Pratt; father Matthew Aaron Smith of Hugoton, Ks. ; sisters Natalie Laredo, Audrie Smith, Kaylie Smith; and grandparents Mike and Virgea Smith, Viken and Martin Casterjon.

A Celebration of Mattie's life will be announced.
