Michael Eugene Arellano, 68, lifelong Newton, Kansas resident, died Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born on January 21, 1957 in Newton, the son of Jesse and Amelia Hernandez Arellano. Mike attended school in Newton, graduating from Newton High School in 1975.

He married Robin Miller and they had three daughters.

For several years he worked for the Newton School District as a custodian and bus aide until retiring. He had also coached the Newton High School Girls Softball team.

Through the years Mike attended Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was an avid sports fan, following the Oklahoma Sooners and enjoyed being part of the Mexican-American Fastpitch Tournament.

Family was very important to Mike. He is survived by three daughters Shanna Smith and husband Matthew of Wichita, Chastity Arellano and fiance Christopher Callahan of Park City, Taylor Krehbiel and husband Christian of Newton; siblings Teresa "Terri" Belgard of Newton, James Arellano and wife Stacy of Wichita, Richard Arellano and wife Lori of Newton, Steven Arellano and wife Angela of Priceville, Alabama, Stephanie Snyder and husband Chris of Newton; brother-in-law Carl Burch of Newton; nine grandchildren Isabella Krehbiel, Zachariah Morford and fiance Makayla Coy, Emily Morford, Brittney Arellano, Haley Schroeder, Hannah Lewis, Madison Lewis, Lilly Smith, Titus Smith; and one great grandson Lucas Morford.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; sister Debra Burch; grandson Evan Scott Lewis; and brother-in-law Steve Belgard.

The casket will be open at Affordable Cremations Plus in Wichita on Saturday, May 31 between 1:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.

The family has entrusted Mike's care with Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita.
