Michael Eugene Collins, 65, laid down his working tools on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at his home in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on October 17, 1958 in Wichita, the son of Henry and Charlene Mitchell Collins. Michael was a lifelong resident of Wichita, graduating from Wichita Southeast High School.

He had done concrete and masonry work for Larry Cook from 2012 until 2015. Michael had been a member of St. James Baptist Church. He enjoyed life, liked to fish and was a jack of all trades.

He leaves behind his wife Terry Banks Collins of the home whom he married in 2015; his daughter Nikila Collins of Texas; mother Charlene Collins; brother Henry Collins; and sister Lori Shaver all of Wichita; along with his sister Sheryl Ransom of Brooklynn Center, Minn.; and two grandchildren Kameron J. Collins and Kiara L. Reynolds.

Michael is preceded in death by his father and brother John Collins.

No services are being planned at this time.

The family has entrusted Affordable Cremations Plus of Wichita with the arrangements.
