Michael Wayne Smith, 66, of Wichita, Kansas, died Monday, July 21, 2025 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born in Roswell, New Mexico on February 6, 1959. His parents were Loren O. and Verna B. Myers Smith. With this father being a Baptist minister, the family moved often, eventually settling in the Neodesha, Kansas area.

Mike had lived in Wichita for the past 20 years. He enjoyed fishing and playing baseball.

Survivors include his children Jake Smith and Jeanne Smith both of Ft. Scott, Kansas; his siblings Floyd Smith, Gary Smith, Shari Stark, Annette Peterson, Clara Leavitt; grandchildren Chloe Daulton, Madison Smith; and great grandchildren Maykin and Samuel Daulton.

Mike is preceded in death his parents and two sisters Peggy Hawley and Lorna Kay Beam.

No services are planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Affordable Cremations Plus in Wichita, Kansas to assist the family with their expenses.
