Molly O’Hara Watson, 62, of Goddard Kansas, passed away on June 11, 2026 in her home, surrounded by family after a long fought battle with cancer.

Molly was born on April 27, 1964 in Melbourne, Florida to Charles and Nancy O’Hara. After graduating from Topeka West High School in 1982 and furthering her education at Kansas State University, Molly started her career at Boeing in Wichita. In 1989, while working on Air Force One, she met her husband Paul. They were united in marriage on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1990. Their union brought forth three children: Jeremy, Emily, and Katie.

To spend summers with her children, Molly made the decision to earn a teaching degree at Wichita State University, later earning a Master’s degree from Newman University. She taught grade school, ESOL, and specialized in reading.

Molly enjoyed traveling far and wide with her beloved sisters and family. Her most memorable trips include her many trips to Disney, Harry Potter World, the Rocky Mountains, the Smoky Mountains, and beautiful beaches.

Molly will be remembered by her friends and family for having a loving and uplifting spirit. She was not and will never be defined by her cancer diagnosis but by her determination to live and find joy in everyday life. The brightest joy in her life was her three children and three grandchildren, whom she loved to spend time with. For nearly 10 years, Molly chose joy. She embraced every moment she had, pouring herself into the people she loved and finding meaning not in the fight of cancer itself but in what she was fighting for.

She is survived by her husband Paul, children Jeremy (Shelby), Emily (Mason), Katie (Kyle), grandchildren Delaney, Olivia, and Atlas, parents Charles and Nancy O’Hara, and sisters, Kelly Jackson, and Megan O’Hara. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Curly and Vivian Schlupp, and J.P. and Mary O’Hara.

A funeral service for Molly Watson will be held July 3rd 3pm, at Christ the King Church at 4411 W. Maple St Wichita, KS 67209. A burial to follow approximately 4:30pm at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery 19221 W. 6th St Goddard, KS 67052
