Nancy Whiting

Nancy Jo Whiting, 82, of Colwich, Kansas, died Monday, May 25, 2026 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on April 10, 1944 in Vallejo, California, the daughter of James and Cecil (Hayes) Whiting. 

Nancy was raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.She moved to Kansas in 1998 and lived in Valley Center until moving to Colwich last year. She enjoyed her cats and was an avid TV watcher. Family was very important to Nancy.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, James and Cecil ,brother, James Whiting Jr and sister Mary(Whiting)Hamm.

She is survived by her son Ron (Tracy) Whiting of Valley Center; daughter Rhonda Whiting (Christopher Chace) of Colwich; sister Jane Slaton of Kentucky; grandchildren Joseph (Faith)Hawthorn, Dylan Hawthorn, Shawn Peil, Daniel Peil, Colin Peil, and Autumn Whiting; and her great grandchildren Draven Peil, Jacob Hawthorn, Thia Hawthorn, and Alia Peil.

Memorial service will be held at LifePoint Church 400 S Abilene Ave, Valley Center, KS 67147 on June 27, 2026 at 11:00 A.M.
