Obituary

Pamela Sue Hammond (Ferguson) 62, passed away from a long-term illness on December 27, 2025 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Ks. "Pam or Pammy" as she was affectionately known as, was born in Great Bend, Ks on October 18, 1963 to the late Dale and Mary (Devor) Ferguson. She was the third of six children.

Pam was a proud resident of Hoisington, Ks, and a 1982 graduate. Pammy was known for her work ethic and connections she developed with her colleagues. She spent her early years working as a Disc Jockey, with the chosen name "Marcy Daniels". She also held managerial roles with McDonalds and Dillards.

Pam married her soulmate James Hammond in Great Bend in 1991. They relocated to Texas, where they resided for over 20 years. They were active members of Victory Temple and Center Point Churches. On August 25, 2003, their son Eli James was born. James passed away on January 31, 2014. Shortly after, Pam and Eli moved back to Kansas where they spent the last 5 years reconnecting with loved ones.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Eli Hammond of Great Bend; brothers, Jerry Ferguson (Kris) of Kansas City, Mo, Randy Ferguson of Salina, Jimmy Ferguson (Melissa) of Great Bend, sister, Brenda Campbell (Tony) of Great Bend; cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; her dogs Trip and Chewy, and several loved ones through her faith in God. Pam was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, an infant brother, and an unborn son.

Pam loved the color purple and gospel music. A devout Christian, Pam will be remembered for her faith and dedication to serving others. Pam made a lasting impact on everyone she met. She will be deeply missed.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Great Bend, Ks. Refreshments to follow. The family requests donations be made to the Pamela Hammond expense fund.

Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus.
