Obituary

Patricia Anne Rickman, 98, longtime Wichita, Kansas resident, died Sunday, April 12, 2026 at the Life Care Center of Wichita.

She was born on September 28, 1927 in Wichita, the daughter of John Francis Melaske and Anne Marie Heillman. Patricia graduated from Wichita East High School and later from Wichita University.

After World War II, she moved to California and later was a part-time resident of Vail, Colorado for 30 years. She was a longtime member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Wichita.

Patricia enjoyed being involved in the community. She had served as President of the Wichita Community Theater, was on the board of the Institute of Logopedics, along with being an avid donor and board member of the Wichita Art Museum.

Survivors include her son John Whitfield Rickman and wife Kimberly of Wichita; daughters Victoria Dalton Goyet of Cornelius, N.C., Christina Dalton Jones and husband Leonard of Denver, Colo., Patricia Deane Rickman of Independence, VA; three grandchildren Elizabeth Miller, Marlon Alessandra, Jane Rickman; and two great grandchildren Olivia Miller and Reese Miller.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Private family services will be held.
