Phyllis Jean Bezdek, 89, of Wichita, died Friday, February 20, 2026 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on December 6, 1936 in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of James and Eva Mae Nance Luginbill. The family moved to Wichita where she was raised and attended Plainview High School.

Phyllis married Alvin E. Bezdek on December 12, 1957 in Wichita. They later moved to Oklahoma and Mississippi before returning to Wichita. Alvin died on September 10, 2009.

Through the years Phyllis had worked in sales at Dillard's in Tulsa and TG&Y in Wichita, along with cleaning houses for many years. She loved spending time with her family and shopping.

Survivors include her two sons Charles and Russell Bezdek both of Wichita; daughter Joyce Foote and husband Larry of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; brothers Glenn Luginbill and Dennis Luginbill of Wichita, Larry Luginbill and wife Diane of White Settlement, Texas; grandchildren Matthew Foote and wife Hailey, Wesley Signer and wife Kelly, Paige Bezdek and Britt Berzdek; along with seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents; husband Alvin; daughter Tina Signer; brother Dwayne Luginbill; sister Louise Record and granddaughter Cristi Bezdek.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 28 at Indian Hills Church of the Nazarene, 1555 N McLean Blvd, Wichita, KS 67203

Private family interment will take place next to her husband at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas.
