Randall Class

Randall Merritt Class, 81, longtime Wichita resident, died Saturday, August 15, 2026 at his home.

He was born on April 11, 1945 in Grand Junction, Colorado, the son of Emerson Monroe and Gwendolyn Hinshaw Class. The family moved to Dodge City, Kansas when Randy was in the fourth grade. He graduated from Dodge City High School and later received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas.

After graduating from college he moved to Wichita. Randy went to work for Family Consultation Services and would become the C.E.O., retiring in 2007.

He married Sharon Leslie Smith on January 27, 1968 in Dodge City. Shortly after Randy was inducted into the U.S. Army, serving in the Viet Nam Conflict.

Through the years Randy and Sharon were very involved in Pathway Church in Wichita. For several years Randy was part of the Prison Ministry at the El Dorado Correctional Facility.

He enjoyed having lunch with his friends on Thursdays where they would play pool. He spent quite a bit of time working in his yard and garden. He liked doing photography work and listening to his records on the stereo.

Survivors include his wife Sharon of the home; daughter Leslie Michelle Owen and husband Carlos Fierro of Shawnee, Ks.; son Aaron Randall Class of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren Baylee Owen, McKenzie Owen, Max Fierro, Sofia Fierro, Esteban Fierro; and his niece Heyde Class of Sedona, Arizona.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 2 at Ft. Dodge Veterans’ Cemetery in Ft. Dodge, Kansas.
