Raul Martinez Lopez, Sr., 68, died Thursday, July 17, 2025 at his home in Wichita, Kansas surrounded by his family.

He was born in Guanajuato, Mexico on May 27, 1957, the son of Pablo Martinez and Nicholas Lopez.

Raul had lived in Wichita for over 30 years and had been a cook at Jimmy's Diner Rock Road location since moving here.

He loved spending time with his family along with cooking and going to the casino.

Survivors include his children Sandy Echeverria, Raul Lopez, Jr., Breanna Lopez, Jennifer Lopez, and Victoria Lopez; brother Manuel Lopez; sisters Aurora Lopez and Rachel Lopez all of Wichita; and seven grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and five grandchildren.

The casket will be open for family and friends on Tuesday, July 22 between 11:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. at Affordable Cremations Plus in Wichita.
