Richard Wayne Collins, Sr., 71, longtime Wichita resident, died November 20, 2025 at the Harry Hynes Hospice Center of Ascension Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita, Kansas.

Richard was born in Burley, Idaho on November 11, 1954. The family later moved to Wichita where he attended schools.

Survivors include his son Richard Collins, Jr.; brothers Steve Collins of Muskogee, Okla., Donald and Joe Collins of Wichita, Billy Collins of Muskogee, Ronald Collins of Shawnee, Okla.; and sisters Tina Edwards and Catherine Atkinson both of Bristow, Okla.

Richard is preceded in death by his father Pete Eugene Collins; mother Gladys Strayer Avalos; brother Larry Collins; and sisters Jessie Butler and Christina Boner.
