Richard Rodriguez was born on August 8, 1968, in Avon Park, Florida, to Francisco Rodriguez-Negron and Betty Rodriguez. As part of a military family, he experienced a life of travel and adventure, living in various locations around the world, including California, Spain, the Azores, and Italy. He completed his high school education at Hahn Air Force Base in Germany.

Rick's career was spent on the road, first as a truck driver, a profession that allowed him to explore the country he loved. While living in Texas, he worked for the City of Garland before relocating to Wichita in 2011, where he continued his service with Butler County.

Beyond work, Rick had a deep passion for sports. He was an avid football fan, always cheering on his favorite teams with enthusiasm. Whether watching a game with family and friends or discussing stats and plays, football brought him great joy. He also enjoyed playing golf and staying active in the sports world.

Rick embraced life fully, always ready for an adventure. He loved to travel, ride his motorcycle, and bring laughter to those around him. His vibrant personality shone through in his love of dancing, storytelling, and making people smile. His warmth, humor, and genuine kindness left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Richard is survived by his son, Rishar D. Rodriguez, and his wife, Katharine, of Wasilla, Alaska; his parents, Francisco and Betty Rodriguez of Wichita; his brother, Frank Rodriguez, and his wife, Janet, of Mulvane; his sister, Velya Randolph, and her husband, Brian, of Wichita; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, David Rodriguez.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance at Affordable Cremations Plus in Wichita on Monday, February 10th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Mulvane on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Richard's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Arrangements are under the care of Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
