Robert Lee Daniels, 86, of Wichita, Kansas, died Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Cedarhurst Senior Living in Wichita surrounded by his wife and family.

He was born on November 13, 1938 in Wichita, the son of Wertie Marshall and Josephine Columbia Daniels. Bob was raised in Wichita and graduated from East High School in 1957. While at East, he was named an All-American Football Player. Bob attended the University of Nebraska where he played football and later graduated from Wichita State University.

Bob worked as a cameraman at KARD-TV. On June 8, 1963 he was united in marriage to Sharon Gail Hughes in Wichita. Their engagement was announced by television on the Major Astro Show by Tom Lahey.

For nine years Bob worked at Boeing Aircraft and later for 26 years at Cessna Aircraft where he retired as the Director of Business Integration.

Bob and Sharon were members of Central Community Church. He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed doing woodworking, photography and boating.

Survivors include his wife Sharon of the home; daughters Kristen Weber and husband Tony of Wichita, Dana Gast and husband Mike of Maize; along with his four grandchildren that Bob loved to spend time with Tyler Weber and wife Britnee, Whitney Coshow and husband Zack, Alisa Oleson and husband Brendan, Austin Gast and wife Christian; and nine great grandchildren Adlee Weber, Brooks Coshow, Jaxton Weber, Ava Oleson, Rowan Gast, Finley Coshow, Crew Oleson, Calum Gast and Noah Gast.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 3 in the Chapel of Central Community Church in Wichita.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Know Your Bible. Contributions may be sent to Northside Church of Christ , 4545 N. Meridian Ave., Wichita, Ks. 67204, with KYB in memo.
