Robert Dean Howell, 71, of Wichita, died Thursday, January 15, 2026 at the Harry Hynes Hospice Center of Ascension Via Christi Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 30 at the United Methodist Church, 322 N Main St, Haviland, KS 67059.

He was born on December 3, 1954 in Pratt, Ks, the son of Ronald and Alice (Fankhauser)Howell. Bob was raised in Haviland, Ks, where he graduated from high school and later graduated from Pratt Community College.

He married Diana Voss on September 4, 1976 in Haviland. Bob and Diana lived in Larned for a few years before moving to Great Bend where they lived and raised their family for 25 years.

Bob was a journey man electrician for over 20 years. He moved to Wichita and worked for the  Park West community, where he became their Maintenance Director for a number of years. He had recently retired.

He was a longtime member of the Haviland United Methodist Church. Over the years, Bob enjoyed camping, canoeing, and hanging out with his family and friends. He mostly enjoyed time spent with his grandsons.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Amanda Howell of Wichita; son, Jerimy (Tiffany)Howell of Pratt; grandchildren, Ethan Yellowwolf, Jaxson Carlson, Ledger Howell, Liam Howell; his sister Ann Howell of Manhattan, Ks.; along with Diana Howell of Pratt.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald Z. Howell.

Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
