Robert Gene Palacio, 66, of Garden City, died unexpectedly on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS.

The son of Joe Avelino Palacio Sr. and Guadalupe Duran Palacio, Robert,  was raised in Holcomb and Garden City. After attending high school, he served in the Army National Guard.

He played guitar and was the lead vocalist in several Classic Rock bands over the years that played throughout Southwest Kansas. He enjoyed being outdoors, feeding the birds and squirrels, and spending time with family.

Survivors include his two daughters, Amanda Aguilar and husband Manuel, and Brandy Coney and husband Jose; brothers Louie, Joe Jr., and Tony Palacio; sister Gloria Garcia; grandchildren, Mariana, Daniel, Alethea, Ambrocio, Eli, Angel, and Romeo; and great grandchildren, Auden, Idris, and Enzo.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; brother Art Palacio; and sister Sandra Herrada.

The family will hold a private gathering to celebrate his life at a later date.
