Obituary

Robert Alexander "Alex" Tracy, aged 56, of Abilene, Kansas, passed away in his home on January 12, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Born on December 8, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio, Alex spent the majority of his childhood in Lagrange, Ohio, and graduated from Keystone High School in 1987. He then moved to Kansas with his sister Anna in 1996. Alex lived a life filled with hard work, traveling, and endless love for his family. He spent a number of years working as a construction foreman, where he was known for his expertise, humor, and rigor.

Outside his work, Alex loved going fishing, cooking, singing classic rock music, shooting guns, old trucks and cars, and, the absolute most of all, spending time with his family. His family and friends will always remember all of the stories he loved to tell, his laugh, wisdom, his quick wit, the smell of his tobacco pipe burning, and all of his nonsense.

Alex is survived by his children, Kaytlyn Tracy of Clay Center, Taylor Tracy of Longford, and Brock Tracy of Abilene, his grandson William Cain, his siblings, Kathryn Tracy Ruehlen of Salina, Patty Reinarts and her husband Dan of Wooster, Ohio, Anna Tracy of Salina, and brother, Mike Tracy of Lorain, Ohio.

A celebration of life will be held on February 21st, time and location to be determined.

A service will also be held during the time of his memorial bench being placed in Suphten Mills Cemetery near Chapman; time and date to be determined.

His love, guidance, and spirit will remain with us always.
