Ronald Eugene Buck 73, of Wichita, died Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Harry Hynes Hospice Center of Ascension Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

He was born on August 26, 1951 in Wichita, the son of Robert and Waleta Mae Bushell Buck. After graduating from Derby High School in 1969, Ronald and his family moved to Clay Center, Kansas where he lived for a short time before returning to Wichita.

In 1973 Ronald met Joyce Rankin. They were married in 1974, living in Wichita and raising their three sons. Joyce died in 1999.

He enlisted in the U. S. Air Force in 1974 and was discharged in 1977. Ronald later enlisted in the Kansas Air National Guard where he served for 22 years before retiring. For several years he had been a Parts Delivery Driver for Auto Zone.

Ronald married Tammy Sams on December 15, 2000. They continued to live in Wichita. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed collecting knives.

Survivors include his wife Tammy of the home; sons Donnie Buck and his wife Shelly of North Platt, Michigan, Clayton Dean Buck and wife Krissy of Wichita; grandchildren Riley Buck, Jake Buck, Megan Losche, Dylan Buck, and C.J. Bumgarner; great grandchildren Kinsley and Eli Bumgarner; sister Margaret Buck of Lincoln Nebraska; and half-sister Carol Brown of Clay Center, Ks.

Ronald is also survived by his step-daughter Ashley Halverson of Blackwell, Oklahoma and her two children Kierian Halverson and Dallas Beaty.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Joyce; son Chad Buck; and brothers Warren, Robert Jr., Clinton, Terry and Eddie Dean Buck.

Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 7th from11 to 1pm at 120 S Ida in Wichita Ks 67211
