Sandra "Sandy" Hurst, 77, of Wichita Kansas died at Ascension Via St Francis Hospital on January 8, 2025 surrounded by those who loved her most. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Sandy was fun, charismatic, and a friend to anyone who needed it. Sandy loved riding motorcycles, playing poker, her dogs Chip and Dale, her kids, watching Football with her son Philip (and wife Jo), and just loved to laugh. Her laugh and beautiful smile filled the room.

She married the love of her life Philip N Hurst in 1978  in Indianapolis, Indiana,  they later moved around to Tulsa, Oklahoma, Douglas Kansas, Virginia, and Derby Kansas and later divorced in 2009.

She then met her Best Friend and end of life Love, Robert (Bob) Clingerman, in Derby KS in 2013.  They spent their days traveling visiting grandkids, taking grandkids on Motorcycle rides, teaching them how to play Poker and Pool.  Bob loved her so much and took excellent care of Sandy as the days went by. She never went a day without Love and Friendship.

Sandy has four surviving children: Susan Ruby Brownlee (Laurel) of Aurora Colorado, Philip Hurst II (JoAnnah) of Kansas City, MO, Tara Brandon Sparks of Bloomington Indiana, and Heidi Darnell (Craig) of Lakeland Florida. She is also survived by four grandsons, four granddaughters, and two great grand kids.

She is proceeded in death by her mother and step father Mary and Jack Whitaker, her father William Schrader, and her sister Susan Minor of Derby Kansas.

Sandy's services and celebration of life will be held  Mother's Day weekend (on Saturday the 10th of May). More details will be posted to Sandy's Facebook page as the time comes closer.

She will forever be remembered and loved.
