Our loving son, Scott Ryan Rodriguez, passed away on August 3, 2026.

He was born in Mountain View, California, grew up in Tennessee but returned to California in 2021. Scott absolutely loved it out there and, thanks to his second cousin, Dawn Dombrow-Thompson, he was able to make so many good memories that would never have been possible without her.

Scott loved hiking, camping, exploring, and anything having to do with being in nature. He had a very adventurous spirit, loved riding his unicycles, and was really talented at making things out of leather and playing his guitar. He was very sentimental and close to family. Even though he was living on the other side of the country, he always made it a point to keep in touch every week and sometimes talk for hours with all of us.

Scott had just moved to Wichita in May to be closer to family for a little while but his heart was in California. His ashes will be lovingly scattered in Santa Cruz, California – the place he loved the most – and he will be missed more than words can ever say.

He is survived by his mom, Lori Rodriguez; his pop, Javier Rodriguez; brother Daniel and sister-in-law Anie; brother Brian and his partner Steven; grandma Jan Harris; uncle Mark Harris; uncle Jeff Harris and family; second cousin Dawn Dombrow-Thompson and family; many relatives in Mexico; and two of his very best friends, Zoey Robingson and Valerie Velasco.

We love you and miss you, Scott, and you will always be in our hearts. Rest in peace and know that there will never be a day that we won’t be thinking of you and miss you.
