Sharon Arlene Newberry lovingly known as "Grammy" to her family, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026. She was born on December 25, 1939, in Arkansas City, Ks, bringing a special kind of light to Christmas Day that would carry throughout her life.

Sharon spent most of her years between Florida and Kansas, building a life centered around family, love, and the simple joys that made her happiest. She was the proud mother of three daughters; Melissa Stang, Deborah Leonard, and Odra Mackey, a beloved grandmother to Tanya Stang, Eric Stang, Jr., Kelly Stang, Ansel Revel, Russel Revel, Katie Revel, Alexa Newberry, Jackson Mackey and Carly Mackey, and great-grandmother to many. Her home and heart were always open to her family, and she treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a strong and independent woman who took great pride in providing for her children and family. Her dedication and work ethic were evident throughout her life. She spent many years working as a bartender in Wichita at The Diamond Inn, The Rafters, The Amarillo Grill and The Twin Lakes Club, where she became a familiar and friendly face to many in the community. In her later years she worked as a grocery clerk at Albertson's in Wichita, where she eventually retired from. Her kindness and reliability were appreciated by coworkers and customers alike. Above all, she was devoted to her family and worked tirelessly to ensure they were cared for and supported.

She enjoyed life's cozy comforts—baking the very best homemade fresh cinnamon rolls, battling out a good game of Scrabble, working on puzzles, and relaxing with a good movie.

She loved watching football and was a proud and loyal fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, often cheering loudly for her favorite player, Patrick Mahomes.

Those moments often brought everyone together around her.

Sharon's legacy lives on through her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many lives she touched along the way.
