Sieglinde "Siggi" Horton, 81, of Wichita, died Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born on July 13, 1943, in Bad Hersfeld, Germany, the daughter of Ferdinand and Anna Katarina Herbst Gebauer. Siggi was raised and attended schools in Germany.

She met Joe Carl Horton while he was stationed in Germany, serving in the U.S. Army. They were married on June 27, 1964, in Kerrville, Texas. While Joe continued to serve in the Army, they traveled throughout Germany. They moved to Wichita upon his retirement from the military in 1982.

After moving to Wichita, Siggi became a Bank Manager, working at Union National Bank, Emprise Bank, Sunflower Bank and finally, prior to her retirement, at Credit Union of America.

She is survived by her husband Joe of the home; son Michael Horton and his wife Yvonne of Lady Smith, Virginia; daughter Nicole Horton and her husband Robert R.C. Jones of Los Angeles, Calif.; two grandsons Joshua and Justin Horton; and her sister Christa Huehn, as well as her sons, Frank, Stephan, and Oliver.

Siggi is preceded in death by her parents.
